Raymond F. Whitmore, 78, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. Ray was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 21, 1938 to Arthur and Pauline (Artz) Whitmore. In 1956, he graduated from Olney High School. Ray worked on his family farm and over 40 years with the railroad. He was a member of Rossford Eagles, Ottawa County Conservation League, and the NRA. Ray enjoyed going "Up North", trap shooting, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray is survived by his children, Terri (Art) Shirey, Art (Debbie) Whitmore, John (Kim) Whitmore, Tim (Kim) Whitmore, and Joel (Julie) Whitmore; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Elsie) Whitmore; and dear friend, Elaine Hanely. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, -Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Willow Cemetery.
