Raymond R. Wilson, 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Parkcliffe Community, in Northwood. He was born on December 18, 1931 to Woodrow and Icel (West) Wilson. Raymond was an Airman 2nd Class in the Air Force serving in the Korean War. He attended the Toledo Barber School and worked as a barber at the corner of Navarre & Wynn for many years. He also worked as an engineer for CSX Railroad for 34 years before retiring in 1996. Raymond was on the democratic County Central Committee for Oregon Precinct 12 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Order of the Moose, Port Clinton, Ohio.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; children, Raymond (Julie) Wilson, Jr., Shelly (Ken) Ewing; grandchildren, Olivia Spencer, Alexandria Schnur, Michael Jackson, Cristian Ewing and Kenneth Ewing; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Bella Spencer, Aubrey Jackson; brother, Guy (Lynn) Wilson; sisters, Tempas (George) Wagner, Kitty (Tom) Koseski; step brother, Woodie J. (Kim) Wilson; step sister, Deanna Wilson and step-mother, Jeannette Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Gregory and Michael.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Monday and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Mark Herzog celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Raymond'™s name are asked to consider St. Ignatius Catholic Church or the Little Sisters of the Poor.
