Obituary

Ree Jean Schnee, 83, of Oregon, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at her residence after several years of compassionate care from her husband Bill. She was born to Grant and Ada (Swartz) Smith on November 6, 1926. As an administrative assistant with the City of Oregon for 27 years, she was well known and liked by her government colleagues. An active woman, she was a member of Oregon Fire Auxiliary, Dendarah Court #10 Zenobia Temple, and Zenobia Campers. Having visited nearly all 50 United States, she spent her retirement years in the RV she shared with her husband, finding recreation at many casinos in the south. Her grandchildren will remember her for her fun-loving attitude towards life and her overwhelming involvement in each of their interests. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, William Jr., daughter, Connie (Bill) Sager, son, Dan (Bonnie) Phillips; step-children, Sue Erdmann, Douglas (Kathy) Schnee, Shirley (Tom) Taviano; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and sister, Shirley Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin Phillips in 1971, brothers, Charles and Norman Smith; sisters, Lenore Salzwedel and Fern Belkofer; and grandson, Bill Schnee. Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue on Wednesday, April 14th from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Dendarah Court #10, Zenobia Temple.
