Rhodene M. Brown, 89, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on July 4, 1924 to the late Miriam and Herbert Rich. She graduated from Waite High School in 1942. On June 7, 1945 Rhodene married the love of her life, Donald (Don) Brown. Throughout 68 years of marriage their love and devotion to each other was an inspiration to many and their dedication to strong family values has carried over to their children and grandchildren. Rhodene was a long time member of Clark St. United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Rhodene and Don spent many happy summers camping at East Harbor and Silver Lake in Angola, IN, sailed on several cruises, and enjoyed many memorable vacations together. Most of all Rhodene treasured sharing love and laughter with her family. Surviving is her husband, Don; children, Susan (Jack) Shrader, Cathy Durco, Larry (Mary) Brown; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janet (James) Dehring. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, (particularly nurse Amanda) and to the caregivers from Home Instead with special thanks to Jana. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to charity of donor'™s choice.
