Richard H. Garrett, 84, of North Port, Florida passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 Port Charlotte Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. Richard was born in Bluffton, Indiana on June 28, 1932 to William and Mayme (Dillahay) Garrett. He was a US Navy Veteran. Rick retired from Okun Produce after being employed for 35 years. He was an avid bowler and a big Ohio State fan. Richard is survived by his siblings, Joseph, Bob and Bill Garrett; son; Richard (Dawn) Garrett; he was a loving grandfather and great grandfather to Michael (Tricia) and Jeremy (Stephanie) and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Elberna "Tiny" Garrett; and his parents. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Thursday, July 7 2016 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
