Richard A. Chudey, 81, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Vincent's Hospital. Rich was born on June 29, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio to Anthony and Regina (Golaszewski) Chudey. He was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High school, class of 1956 and went on to join the United States Marine Corps. He later worked at LOF for over 30 years. On February 12, 1987 he married Beverly (St. Aubin) and together they would make many wonderful memories along the way. Rich was an extremely hard worker who wasn't afraid to tackle anything. He had a passion for building, creating and perfecting. His craftsmanship was on full display at his cottage on Lime Lake. This cottage would be a place where he would spend countless hours creating life long memories, his family and grandchildren will never forget. Rich was a kid at heart and it showed when you would see the 70 year old man skiing, riding his jet ski's or pulling tubes behind the boat. He was a master Euchre player and took his talents to the Oregon Senior Center where Rich enjoyed going. Rich loved attending any event his grandchildren had going on, and was truly a selfless man who was always willing to help. Our hearts hurt because we lost you, but are full because we love you and the memories we will always have.
Rich is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bev; children, Rachelle (Scott) Selee, Randy (Vicki) Chudey; step-children, Terry (Melanie) McHaffie, Candy (Gary) Tscherne, Reneé Vining, Kelly (Bob) Francis; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 7:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Charity of Donor's Choice.
