Richard L. "Rich" Downour, 70, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 5, 2023. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 21, 1953 to Ralph and Lois (House) Downour Sr. He graduated from Macomber High School and then served his country in the United States Navy. Rich later married the love of his life, Brenda (Wilson) on March 30, 1974. He worked at Chrysler's Toledo Machining Plant as a journeyman millwright for many years before his retirement in 2008. He had a passion for bourbon, vinyl records, baseball cards and was an avid horticulturist. In Rich's free time, he enjoyed traveling, watching his granddaughters play softball, cheering for Kansas basketball and rooting for the Michigan Wolverines to beat Ohio State.

Rich is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda; daughter, Stephanie Duling; son, Jim (McKenzie) Downour; grandchildren, Austin (Marissa) Jaquillard, Madi and Kristin Duling, Lucy Hoskins, Josie Downour; siblings, John (Eva) Downour and many nieces' nephews and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ralph Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
