Richard L. Hornyak Sr., 83, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 21, 1940 to Emery and Julia (Fekete) Hornyak Sr. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, Richard attended The University of Toledo. He worked for United States Postal Service for many years until his retirement. Rich enjoyed traveling, especially out west. He loved watching all kinds of sports and attending his grandchildren's different sporting events throughout their school years. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus for family and friends, but what he cherished most was his loving family.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (John) Perlaky; grandchildren, Spencer (Emily), Logan (Maegan), Brandi, Brittany, Brooke, Josh, Jared; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Connie Hornyak; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Hornyak Jr.; and brother, Emery Hornyak Jr.

Friends and family may visit Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St. Stephen's Catholic Church, on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Richard's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
