Obituary

Richard F. Johlin, 80, of Oregon, OH passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 in St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH on December 17, 1925 to Frederick and Alma (Nagel) Johlin.  Richard was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Johlin Winery for over 25 years.  Richard was also a heavy equipment operator, but his real passion was his farm.  Mr. Johlin was a member and past elder at First St. John Lutheran Church. He served on the Oregon City Council from 1960 through 1962.  His memberships include the Toledo Swiss Society, GBU and the Oregon Jerusalem Historical Society.   Surviving are his children, Carol (David Greenhoff) and Gary (Brenda) Johlin; brother, Frederick Johlin; 3 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and 9 step great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lovie and sister, Elizabeth McGlenn.   Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. at Starr Avenue on Wednesday from 2 to 9 pm.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Rich's memory be made to First St. John Lutheran Church.
