"Rick" Richard J. Plumb, 47, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Rick was born in Oregon, Ohio on July 23, 1961, to Richard and Joyce (Hileman) Plumb. He graduated from Penta Vocational School. Rick had worked for Lucas County Human Resources as an Economic Support Case Worker for the past 23 years. His love for flowers and plants were made apparent when you would see his home and his lawn full of flower beds. Rick's knowledge of plants was exceptional, not only knowing the traditional names but also the scientific name of most plants and flowers. Anyone who ever met Rick, made a good friend. Surviving are his parents, Dick and Joyce Plumb; sister, Candice (John) Kamann; nephew and nieces, Justin, Chelsie, Emily Kamann; grandmother, Eileen Hileman; aunts and uncles, Jane and Glen Tank, Juanita Richmond, Janice Wolf; special friends, Denise Fulop, Amy Czerniak; Rick's beloved dog "Brandy. Also surviving are many cousins and many, many friends. Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Earl Plumb, Paul Hileman; uncles, Carl Plumb and John Wolf. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ext., Oregon on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
