Richard G. Soncrant, 90 of Oregon, OH passed away in his residence on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Richard was born in Toledo, OH, on March 1, 1928 to Joseph and Iva (Emch) Soncrant. Richard was a graduate of Waite High School. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Richard was
a Plant Operator working for Sun Oil Refinery for 43 years, retiring in 1984. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends, especially with his sons and grandchildren, holding the record for attendance of 40 plus years
at Dad's Day held at Coy Elementary School.
Surviving are his sons, Richard, Jeffrey (Julie), Keith (Carol), David (Mary Jo), Troy (Melanie); 10 grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild expected in October, 2018. Richard was preceded
in death by his wife, Gloria; parents; grandson, Bradley Soncrant; siblings, Robert (Kathleen), Joseph (Julie) and Jimmy Soncrant. The family would like to thank his special caregivers for assisting them in fulfilling Richard's request to remain at home.
Visitation will held on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, Toledo, OH at 11:00 a.m., where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ft. Meigs Cemetery. Those wishing to
make an expression in Richard's memory are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
