Richard E. Thompson passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 17, 1938 to Edward and Carol (Baum) Thompson. He is remembered as a devoted Yankees fan, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Coach. He enjoyed his 20 years coaching in the Oregon Recreation League and spending time with his loving family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Jeff (Jackie) Thompson, and Rick Thompson; Grandchildren: Jessica (Chris) Renner, Hallie Thompson, and Brooke (Matthew) Bodeman; Great-Grandchildren: Reagan Renner, Jackson Renner, Madison Renner, and Dane Bodeman. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Services will remain private. Expressions of sympathy in Richard's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
