Richard Z. Warren, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; 82, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. Richard was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 6, 1934 to John and Agnes (Boczkowicz) Wojtowicz. He was a graduate of St. Hedwig Grade School, Woodward High School, and the University of Toledo. Richard was a member of the Army R.O.T.C. Program. On October 26, 1957, he married the love of his life, Carol Wohlmuth. Richard retired in 1999 from the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, Michigan as a Senior Analyst in the transportation department, after 31 ½ years of service. He had previously worked as a traffic manager with Interlake Iron, Toledo, Ohio and in the transportation department at Owens Corning Fiberglass, Toledo, Ohio and Standard Lime Company, Woodville, Ohio. Richard enjoyed playing baseball and helped with his sons' sports teams. Richard and Carol delivered Mobile Meals for 16 years; Carol driving, and Richard delivering. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Walbridge, Ohio and a 20 year member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Oregon, Ohio. Richard loved having lunch with his fellow Woodward High School classmates and fellow retirees from Ford Motor Company.
Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; sons, Jeffrey Warren and Timothy (Sherda) Warren; grandchildren, Anne Marie, Tamara, Marriah; great-granddaughter, Eliana; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph (Rose) Warren.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road Oregon, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church. www.egglestonmeinert.com
