Richard E. Young, 57, passed away June 19, 2013 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 30, 1955 to Orville and Laura (Bancroft) Young. Rich was a graduate of Waite High School and was employed by Penn Central, ConRail and CSX Railroads in the Maintenance of Way Department. He loved to fish and hunt and belonged to many fishing clubs. Rich was an artistic person and enjoyed playing pool and the guitar. Most of all, Rich loved spending time with his grandson, Lincoln. Surviving are his loving wife, Norma Jean; children, Shannon Houghton, Joshua (Tiffany) Houghton; grandchild, Lincoln Houghton; father, Orville Young; siblings, Ronald A., Janet E. (Harry) Appelfeller and Joy A.(Jeffrey) Studer. Rich was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Robert P. Young. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road and on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private in LaSalle Cemetery.
