Rita M Reed (Jaegly), 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday March 24, 2012. She fought a long and often heartbreaking battle with the cruel illness of Alzheimers disease. Rita was born December 4, 1933, to the late Florence and Herman Jaegly. She was the youngest of 6 children and was a favorite to all her siblings. Ritas greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was most proud of her three children who remained devoted to her and close to one and other. She shared a lifelong friendship with cherished childhood "pals" who were know as the "Ten Pins". Rita and her husband Marion also shared lasting memories with dear friends of attending Ohio State football games, golf outings, horseracing, trips to the cottage and entertaining until his passing on May 19, 1998. Rita worked in the banking business for over 30 years and once retired found great satisfaction in volunteering at the St Louis soup kitchen. Her most rewarding role however was that of grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend time with them and create lasting memories for them during the last several years of her life. She was loved and cherished and will be missed by all. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; great-granddaughter, Taylor, Jaegly; family members, Jack, Gene and Ernie, Mike, Norman and Jane and Jim and Mickey; in-laws, Harold and Betty Davis, Steve and Velma Bartha, Dick Plantz, Bob Reed and beloved sister-in-law, Charlene Reed. She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Rodney) Hoyt, Bill (Janet) Reed and Annie (Jim) Bochi; grandchildren, Matt (Ashlie) Velker, Erin Dzierwa, Kyle and Rachel Reed, Chad (Cyndi) Hoyt, Brook (Carlos) Calatrava; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Grant, Mason, Ryan, Savanna, Cassidy, and Ashton; family members, Joe and Regina Dobes, Bernice Jaegly, Rhonda Reed, John and Ruth Rakay, Anita Plantz, Paul Reed, Patty Davis, and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert and Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel on Tuesday March 27, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with service commencing at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio as well as Riverview nurses Rachel and Shelly for the loving care they provided Rita.
