Robert 'œRob' Ciaciuch, 89, of Oregon, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 23, 1921 to Max and Lottie (Koralewski) Ciaciuch. Rob attended Scott High School and joined the Merchant Marines during WW II. On February 20th, 1965, he married Margaret Makovic. Rob was employed with Root Outdoor Advertising as an installer and painter of billboards. In later years he was employed with the City of Oregon Water Department. Rob and Marge were avid golfers, especially at Chippewa Golf Club. They enjoyed traveling to Georgia in winter months to play golf. Rob was especially proud of his three Holes-In-One. Rob enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, and drawing. He was a longtime member of the Cavalier Club, where he was an avid dartsman.
Rob is survived by his brother, Jerome Ciaciuch; sister, Rosemary Ciaciuch; nephew, Denis (Patsy) Ciaciuch; niece, Patricia Brooks; step-children, George (Colleen) Makovic, Miriam Patznick, and Frank (Sally) Makovic; grandchildren, George (Leslie) Makovic, Kathleen Makovic, Michael (Beth) Makovic, Mark (Makovic); great-grandchildren, Dianne Christine, Kelly, Sarah, and Jessie. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, brother, Walter, and step-son, Richard Patznick.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care, especially nurse Jessica.
