Robert D. Sonny Martin 73, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a short illness of emphysema. He spent two years in the Army after graduating from Waite High School in 1951 and then was employed by Ohio Bell for 23 years. He then transferred to Southern Bell where he retired in 1985 in FT. Lauderdale, Florida after 30 years of service. He moved back to Toledo in 2006 to be closer to family. While in Toledo in his early years he was Past Master of Lotus Lodge #625 (now Paragon Lodge #788) Past Illustrations Master of Vistula Council #108. He was also active with the Demolay Chapters for young men and the Lotus Order of Rainbow Girls. He was also a member of Pt. Lawrence Chapter #161 and the order of Lotus Chapter of Eastern Stars #477. Bob leaves behind his wife, Marilyn of 51 years; and four children, Robert E. (Barbra), Cheryl (Bob) Cumnock, Tammy (Ralph) Ramos, and David (Cheryl); and 8 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at 7:00 p.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Robert's memory are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
