Robert "Bob" A. Day, 71, of Luckey, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 with his wife and family by his side. He was born on February 14, 1947 in Odd, West Virginia to Paul and Hazel (Shrewsberry) Day Sr. He was the seventh of twelve children. He married Mary Hicks on October 21, 1999. Bob was an exceptional athlete. He was recruited by the Detroit Tigers upon graduating from Waite High School in 1966 but had to decline due to family obligations. His love of all sports remained a constant throughout his life. When "the game" was on he could be found along with his brothers (and occasionally sisters) crowded in front of the television rooting for his beloved Tigers and Buckeyes. If he wasn't watching sports on television or cheering on his nieces or nephews at their games you could find him in his barn or working outside in the yard with Mary. Bob retired from LOF/Pilkington in 2000 after 32 years of service. Bob leaves behind his loving wife Mary; children, Robert and Lisa; brothers, David Day, Danny (Debbie) Day, Jerry (Louise) Day; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph (Frank) Day, Paul (Jeep) Day Jr., James Day; sisters, Geneva Long, Shirley Shank, Sarah Grimes, Linda Lairson and Penny Day. In accordance with Bob's wishes services will remain private. Eggleston-Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
