Obituary

Robert G. Draeger 78, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2003, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo on April 24, 1924, to the late Edwin and Amanda (Six) Draeger. Bob was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and was wounded in Wallendorf, Germany. His rank was a Tec 5 in the 387th Armored Division and he received several medals of honor including a Purple Heart. He was employed for 30 years at LOF retiring in 1982, from the Experimental and Development Department. He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his family. He had a family apple orchard and enjoyed his horses, Lightning was his favorite. Bob's family always came first as he spent alot of time with his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Leola (Mickey) Lake Draeger; children, JoAnn (James) Mickelson, Linda (Terry) Sundling, Gloria (Michael) Marchetto, Kathleen (Robert) Eschrich, Charles (Sharon) and Tamara Scott; sisters, Dorothy Herbster and Ruth Williams; brothers, Richard (Raylene) and Edwin; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his son, Robert Jr. and sister, Doris. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, OH on Saturday, March 22, 2003 from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
