Robert W. "Heck" Hecklinger, 87, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Robert was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 25, 1921, to Oscar and Clara (Kuhlman) Hecklinger. He was a U.S. Army war veteran of WWII. Robert and his cousins were the owner and operators Hecklinger Greenhouse for over 50 years, before his retirement in 1991. He was a graduate of Waite High School and attended the Ohio State University where he is a member of the Varsity O Club. Bob was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church, and G.A.F. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elisabeth; sons, Robert (Debra) Jr., Richard (Cathy) and James (Sandy) Hecklinger; sister, Marilyn (John) White; grandchildren, Bob Hecklinger III, Susan Tilton, Richard Hecklinger, Heidi LeGrand, Kristine Hecklinger, Holly Hecklinger, Andrea Keeble, Emily Predmore, Nicole Predmore and 16 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Karen (Ronald) Predmore. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in First St. John's Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman St., Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Robert's name are asked to consider First St. John Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Association.
