Robert Huss, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on July 8, 2003. Bob succumbed after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born on May 17, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio and was a resident of East Toledo much of his life. Bob was an Army veteran and served in Germany. He was a member of VFW Post #606. Bob was a quality control operator at E.I. Dupont for nearly 40 years. While at Dupont, he served as local president of the I.C.W.U. Local #901 and was an active supporter of the union his entire career. Bob was a member of East Christian Church for more than 50 years, where he served as a deacon and a trustee. One of his special gifts to East Christian was as a volunteer grass cutter. An avid golfer, he enjoyed golfing with his sons and grandson. He participated in several senior golf leagues in Toledo and Oak Harbor.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris; sons, Thomas (Sandy) of Gahanna, OH; Steven (Juanita), Rossford, OH, Robert, Jr., Toledo; grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Laura and his sister, Ruth Ludwig, Walbridge, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Huss and his sister, Virginia Keener.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Robert's honor can be made to East Christian Church.
