Robert (Bob) Wallace Kennedy Sr., 80, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 31, 2021 surrounded by his family. Bob was born November 15, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dexter and Betty (Krull) Kennedy. He grew up with his brother Dexter and his sister Jane (both deceased) in Cleveland, where he also met his future wife, Charlyne (Barber). Bob and Charlyne would go on to have two children, Valerie and Robert Jr., before eventually settling in Oregon, Ohio.
Bob loved country western music, classic car shows, gardening, and always looked forward to spending time with his loved ones during the holidays in Cleveland. Bob was exceptionally proud of his 6 years of service in the United States Army Reserve. While he had many passions, one of his favorite past-times was listening to Tom Hamilton and the Cleveland Indians on the radio while enjoying an ice-cold beer. Bob will be remembered for his fun-loving humor, his larger-than-life personality and the love and affection he had for his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlyne; daughter, Val (Ron) Shull; son, Robert (Lori) Kennedy Jr.; grandson, Christopher (Kadie) Shull; along with many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley funeral home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio Saturday, June 5th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will also be Saturday, June 5th 2021 at 1:15 p.m. at St. Ignatius Cemetery, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, Ohio.
Memorials in Bob's memory may be made out to an organization of the donor's choice. Bob's family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Promedica Toledo Hospital Surgical ICU for their loving care.
