Robert Leiter of Oregon, Ohio, died on Thursday, June 26, 2003 in St. Charles Hospital. Mr. Leiter was born on March 15, 1911 and lived most of his life in the Toledo area. He served in the Pacific with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Leiter was employed by the United States Postal Service in Toledo, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in East Toledo. Mr. Leiter enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and sports, especially baseball, golf, and Ohio State Buckeyes football. Mr. Leiter is survived by one daughter, Debra Ostdiek of Hillsboro, MO. He is preceded in death by mother and stepfather, Hazel and Joseph Leipold; wife Evelyn; brother Charles Leiter, Sr.; and special friend Mabel Ferguson. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Coy Road Chapel of the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home in Oregon. Visitation for Mr. Leiter will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 on Saturday and continue until the sevices begin. Interment will follow in Willow Cemetery.
