Robert A. Lutz Sr. 96, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away at Parkcliffe of Northwood. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1922 to William and Bertha (Korinek) Lutz. After graduating high school Robert started working for The Standard Oil Co. Shortly after working he enlisted in the United States Military serving as a radio operator in the Army Air Corp during WWII. After his service he would marry the love of his life, Florence (Loboda) on August 1, 1956. Robert would eventually work at Standard Oil/BP for 42 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Northwest Ohio Browns Backers and Swiss Alliance, German American Federation. He also was active with the American Legion Dunberger Post 537 where he served for many years in the Color Guard. Robert enjoyed bicycling with his son, but most of all cherished the time spent with his family.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert (Cathy) Lutz Jr.; grandchildren, Christopher and Carolyn Lutz; sisters, Thelma (Bob) Kowell, Shirley Mrozek; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence and brother, Bill.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at Noon. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Robert's name may be directed to Dunberger Post 537.
