Obituary

"Stritch Legend" Bob Reynolds, class of '65 and Stritch teacher for 35 years died suddenly June 7, 2016. Bob was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, coach, mentor, all around "good guy" and friends to many people. He will be sadly missed. Born July 22, 1946 in Toledo, Bob was the son of Robert A. and Dorothy A. (Whitaker) Reynolds. He was a graduate of Good Shepherd grade school, Cardinal Stritch H.S. and B.G.S.U. After graduating from B.G., Bob taught wood shop for one year at Fremont Ross Jr. High before returning to his High School Alma Mater. There he taught drafting later adding Freshman theology. He coached cross-country, track, and wrestling. Bob was a veritable encyclopedia of area high school athletics, athletes and their accomplishments. When coaching he had a knack of knowing how to help each competitor perform his or her best. Bob was also involved in many of Stritch's musical productions working behind the scenes directing the stage crews. He was an inductee into the Cardinal Stritch Hall of Fame and the TAAC Hall of Fame. Never one to sit still for long, Bob turned to the Anderson's at Woodville Mall for part-time employment after retiring from teaching. It was there he met his NASCAR ladies and started his yearly trip to MIS. Bob retired a second time when the Anderson's store closed. Bob was proud to be an active member of the Oregonian Club and a past Trustee. He loved woodworking and created many fine pieces of furniture for family and friends and wooden angel's for friends who were grieving. Left to mourn his passing is his high school sweetheart and wife of almost 48 years, Roberta S. (Miller) Reynolds; son, Robert A. Reynolds, III (Lori); daughter, Lisa M. Scribner (Theodore); his grandchildren and shining stars; Reid, Reilly and Avery Reynolds and Emma, Lily and Uly Scribner. Also surviving are his sisters, Sharon L. Kest and Janice C. Mackley (James); mother-in-law, Catherine C. Miller; uncles, Stanley Reynolds and Murlin Wilford; aunts, Patricia Puls and Betty Reynolds and in-laws, Diana Berry, Ronald J. Miller (Judy), Karen Hummel (Larry); Sharon Seitz-Dennis, Dan Miller (Melanie), Tim Miller (Tina West) and Kass Miller (Beth Merrin) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Robert F. Miller, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S.
