Robert W. Romstadt Sr., 81, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2006 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Robert was born in Toledo on April 13, 1924 to William and Eva (Bihl) Romstadt. He was employed for many years with Interlake Iron before retiring as a by-products operator in the early 1980's. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Robert enjoyed fishing, going to flea markets, coin collecting, traveling and was a very talented wood worker. Surviving are his loving wife, Carolyn; sons, James (Carol), Robert Jr. (Shirley), John (Nan); daughters, Kathy (Jim) Moore and Carol Jean Romstadt; brother, Norm Romstadt ; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 from 2 to 9 pm in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 am and proceed to Sacred Heart Church for 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
