Robert G. Schnur, 85, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Bay Park Community Hospital in Oregon, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 27, 1930 to Grover and Mary (Coy) Schnur of Bryan, Ohio.
Robert, lovingly known as "Bob," married Patricia Anne Blaksley on September 6, 1958. Bob loved being with his family. He also enjoyed outdoor activities. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed target shooting. He was readily known for his sense of humor; he loved to make others laugh. He was a member of both the NRA and the Ottawa County Sportsmen's Club. He loved his dogs and "grand" dogs. He served in the Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. Professionally, he was a Mechanical Engineer for Doehler Jarvis for 45 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for many years.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; children, Robert (Phoebe) Schnur, Eric (Jill) Schnur, Bonnie (Joseph) Nero and Andrea (Craig) Brochu; grandchildren, Alexi, Nicholas, Rachel, Matthew and one on the way; and a great-grandchild, Ellie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Sunday, July 19 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Toledo Area Humane Society.
