Obituary

Robert Varga, 79, of Curtice, OH, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at his home.  Robert was born on June 25, 1928 in Curtice, Ohio to Steve and Anna Varga.   He was a life-long farmer and owned several tractor trailers.  Robert used his own trucks to transport materials for Youngstown Cartage and drove for E. Brooke Matlack.  He also worked for American Shipbuilding and was a member of Boilermakers Local #85.  Roberts other memberships include First St. John Lutheran Church, Jerusalem Township Fire Department, Ohio Farmers Union and Cooley Canal Yacht Club.  In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, softball and hunting. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Bonnie; son, Robert "Beef" Varga Jr.; daughter, Jeannie (Bill) Free; sisters, Mary Ann (Ernest "Rod") Rodrigues and Annabelle (Alfred) Szabo; grandchildren, Chris (Rachael), Lauren and Andrew Varga, Jonathan and W. Garrison Free; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Trinity Varga.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve and sisters, Irma Budai and Charlotte Mohr. Family and Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 12 noon to 8 pm where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am.  Interment will take place in Allen Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to First St. John Lutheran Church or the charity of the donors choice.  The family wishes to extend thanks to Griswold Special Care and all his care-givers.
