Robert C. Vogelpohl, 77, of Curtice, Ohio passed away from a sudden illness on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. He was born in Curtice, Ohio on November 23, 1928 to Christ and Loretta (Ames) Vogelpohl. Bob married Shirley Lang in November of 1948 and had three sons.
Vogie started working at Standard Oil, Oregon, Ohio as a pipe fitter and retired in 1986. He was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan. Some of his favorite things were hunting, fishing and working in his yard. Family was always important but his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley; sons, Jack, Chris (Darla), Bill (Rhonda); grandchildren, Andrea (Wes) Waters, Danielle Vogelpohl, Curt, Dana (Angie), Karyn, Marc (Gail), Brody (Rebekah) Vogelpohl; great grandchildren, Mitchell, Cole, John, Luke, Zoe, Austin, Olivia; brother, Donald and friend Phyliss; sisters and brothers in law, Evelyn and Bill Giles, Donald and Ellie Lang. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday from 2-9 p.m and where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Bob's memory are asked to consider the donor's choice.
