Robert A. Zautner, 85, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2004, in Heartland of Oregon Nursing Home. Mr. Zautner was born in Toledo on February 25, 1919, to Arnold and Marie Zautner. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific during the invasion of the Philippines and Okinawa. He also served in Japan during the occupation. Robert was the owner and operator of Robert's Rug and Furniture Cleaning. He was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Surviving are his grandchildren, Natalie (Bill) Sumner, Susan Webb, Robert M. (Lisa) Zautner, Tricia (Dan) Burns; brother, Ira "Ike" (Takeko) Zautner; sister, Ruth Ann Barrow; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Zautner; brother, Richard Zautner, and sister, Merlin Huffman.
Friends may call in Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, where visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
