Ronald L. Armstrong, 69, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at his residence after an extended illness. Ron was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 30, 1946 to William and Maxine (Beecher) Armstrong. As a young boy, Ron enjoyed playing with his brother and cousins who remained close throughout the years. In his teen years, Ron developed a passion for playing sports. He was a 1964 of Bowsher High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. In 1968, Ron began a 36 year career with Sun Oil Refinery where he met some of his closest friends; especially his best friend and long time girlfriend Sherri. He retired in 2003 and remained close to his many friends. His smile, humor, charisma and infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his children, Bill Armstrong and Dawn Armstrong; girlfriend, Sherri Warkentien; grandchildren, Melissa Anton and Ronald J Armstrong; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Cassie) Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, Maxine Schrader; and step-father, Art Schrader.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road from 1:00 pm until time of the Celebration of Life at 3:00pm. Private interment will take place in Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
