Ronald A. Schinharl, 75, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Ron was born May 31, 1943 to Arthur and Florence (Vinning) Schinharl, who also preceded him in death. Ron a Waite High School graduate had owned and operated many small businesses. Ron had many interests during his lifetime, but none rivaled his love of family and softball. He enjoyed spending time with his wife Patti, sons, stepsons, grandchildren and great grandchildren and particularly enjoyed when they would visit he and Patti at their Florida home. He especially enjoyed coaching his sons Ron and John in baseball, playing an instrumental role in helping them advance to have college baseball careers. After that, he moved on to be the bench coach when his sons and stepsons went on to coach his grandchildren. But it was slow pitch softball that Ron most identified with. His coaching career spanned four decades and culminated in winning back-to-back Class B National Championships in 1986 and 1987 and later a Class A National Championship in 1991. He was inducted into the State of Ohio Softball Hall of Fame near the end of his coaching career. His coaching and mentorship touched the lives of too many young men to mention. He will be deeply missed by his softball brothers and sons and his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patti; sons Ronnie Schinharl, John (Tracy) Schinharl; stepsons, James (Andrea) Sedlak, Tom Sedlak; grandchildren, Ronnie, Joshua, Tyler, MacKenzie, Hannah (Skeels), Tyler, Gabrielle, Maria; step-grandchildren, Jimmie, Jessica, Sierra, Alex, Adam, Drew; 6 great-grandchildren.
