Rose Mary Garza, 87, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. She was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on April 17, 1937. At age 7, Rose and her family moved to Toledo, Ohio. She would later meet and marry, Santiago Garza Jr., sharing over 65 years of memories. Once her youngest child started school, Rose completed her education and was employed as a bookkeeper by Toledo Towel for many years. Rose was the heart of her family; a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed gardening; especially her roses which could be found at every home she lived in. Rose loved crocheting and quilting; having many pieces grace her home. She loved traveling, playing cards, and board games with her children and grandchildren. Most of all, she demonstrated her love of her family with her cooking. She was an excellent self-taught cook, who was not only renowned for her Mexican/ Puerto Rican foods, but was also sought out for her homemade soups and baked goods. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and will be treasured in their hearts forever.

Rose is survived by her children, Diane (Tony) Andreano, Michael Garza, Richard Garza, Christina Garza and Angela (Edward) Sheldon; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pedro and Pablo Cintron; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by her mother, Mercedez (Ortiz); father, Pablo Cintron Rodriguez; husband, Santiago Garza Jr.; daughter, Gloria Spangler; and brothers, Eduardo Citron and Hector Cintron Ortiz.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
