Rose "Mimi" Szalkay, 86, of Oregon, Ohio loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, August 17, 2007, in her home surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Toledo on October 8, 1920, to John and Rose (Gereb) Nagy. Mrs. Szalkay had been a member of both Calvin United Church of Christ and First St. Mark's Lutheran Church. While she was most proud of her family, throughout her life Rose continued to have a great pride in her Hungarian Heritage. Surviving are her daughter, Sally Ann (Gary) Breier; grandchildren, Melissa (Eddie) Cutcher and Josh (Christy) Breier; great- grandchildren, Eddie Jr., Zane, Wade, and Alexis.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander "Zuk"; sister, Irene Nagy; brothers, John Nagy and Louis Horvath. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd.. Funeral services will be private. The family would like to thank her care givers, Rita, Earlene, Jennie and the entire staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their dedicated and loving care of Mimi.
