Obituary

Rosemary (Blum) Furman Dixon, 84, of Oregon, Ohio peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, on November 9, 2022. Rosie was born in Oregon, Ohio on October 11, 1938 to Paul and Evelyn Blum. Rosie was the 2nd youngest of their eleven children.

Rosie graduated from Clay High School in 1956. After graduation, she went to work for Kuhlman Builders. She then worked for the Dana Corporation in the Fluid Product Sales Division, where she retired in 1995.

In 1957, Rosie married Richard L. Furman. They were married for 33 years until Rich's passing in 1990. Rich and Rosie had 3 wonderful children, Rick, Jean, and Jim. In 1993, Rosie married George Dixon. George passed away in 1995.

Rosie was active in several organizations. The Coy School Mothers Club (Coyettes), the Oregon Fire Department Womens Auxillary, the Swiss Society at the GAF, the Clay Alumni Committee, and her high school reunion committee.

Rosie loved every minute of cheering on her children's, grandchildren's, and great grandchildren's many sports teams. Rosie loved visiting new places and traveling with her friends to Myrtle Beach and Florida. Rosie loved playing cards and games with her many friends and family. Rosie never passed up a chance to go to a casino where she would play her favorite slot machines for hours. Rosie also loved cheering on THE Ohio State Buckeyes football team. She liked nothing better than beating TTUN.

Rosie is survived by her children, Rick (Monique) Furman, Jeanne (Joe) Dippman, and Jim (Leslie) Furman; grandchildren, Sean (Shelly) Hintz, Heidi (Ethan Finkenbiner) Hintz, Hunter Furman, Reid Furman, Nicholas Rocca; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Addyson Hintz and Brady and Grant Hintz; sisters, Marilyn Daly and Janet Schacht.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Rich Furman and George Dixon; siblings, Robert Blum, Virginia Dutcher, Joanne LaCourse, George Blum, Donnie Blum, Norbert Blum, Norman Blum, Jimmy Blum.

The family would like to make a special thank you to Julia, Selena, and Harold at Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and the entire staff at Promedica Ebeid Hospice.

Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice or Promedica Ebeid Hospice.
