Obituary

Rosemary Schwamberger, 78, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away on October 15, 2026.

Born on April 11, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, Rosemary was the daughter of Russell M. Riley and Rose T. Riley (née Grabarczyk).

On July 17, 1970, Rosemary married John "Jack" A. Schwamberger Jr. at St. Hyacinth Church in Toledo, Ohio. Together, they shared nearly 51 years of marriage before Jack's passing on July 2, 2021.

Throughout her life, Rosemary made her home in Covington, Ohio; Toledo, Ohio; and Millbury, Ohio. She worked in early childhood education at Toledo Day Nursery and later served as a Mary Kay Sales Director.

Rosemary never knew a stranger. Within five minutes of meeting someone, she could know their entire life story, and what began as a casual conversation often blossomed into a lasting friendship. Some of her dearest friends were people she met while waiting in line at craft stores or crossing paths on a walk. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people wherever she went.

Rosemary was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and cherished the many friendships she made throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved Breakfast Bitches and gathering with friends for Bunco.

Above all, Rosemary treasured her family, particularly her grandchildren and siblings. She was a proud, if sometimes nervous, supporter of her children's athletic pursuits. She spent countless weekends at Ty's high school wrestling tournaments and rarely missed one of Sue's college softball games. No matter how nerve-racking the competition, she was there to cheer them on. She also enjoyed crafting and collecting teapots and sunflowers.

Rosemary is survived by her son, Ty Schwamberger (Sheryl); her daughter, Sue Wilson (Gabe); her beloved grandchildren, Preston Schwamberger, Ethan Schwamberger, Oliver Wilson, and Ezra Wilson; and her siblings, Richard Riley (Penny), Betty Michalak (Dennis), and Carol Osinski (Tom).

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Schwamberger Jr.; her parents, Russell and Rose Riley; and her brothers, Donald (Darlene) Riley and Norman (Beverly) Riley.

Rosemary will be lovingly remembered by family and friends with every pedicure, flashy red car, sequined sweater, and sunflower they see. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is once again with Jack, the love of her life, whom she missed deeply.

Rosemary will be interred alongside Jack in December. A Celebration of Life will also be held near Toledo at that time, with the date and additional details to be announced.
