Roy V. Bunning, 88, formerly of Northwood, Ohio passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at his home in Rio Rico, Arizona. Roy was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on March 23, 1921 to Clarence and Thelma (Brunkhorst) Bunning. On September 26, 1942, Roy married Alice Harmeyer. Roy and Alice started their own business, Royal Tool Inc., which grew into an international business when they purchased Sun Tool. In 1947 Roy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at an International Convention in Los Angeles, California and remained a faithful witness of Jehovah until his death. Roy and Alice were married for 63 years, she preceded Roy in death. He is survived by his wife Rita Puse (Snyder) whom he married on February 18, 2006. He is also survived by brothers Russel (Margaretta) and Boyd (Dianne) Bunning; sisters, Joy (Delbert) Latham, Wilma (Peg) Greider and Norma Jean (Robert) Johnson; step-daughter Dana (Philip) Cox; grandson Connor Cox; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons Franklin and David; his parents; his brothers Kenneth and John Bunning; and sister Edna Bunning.
Visitation will take place on Monday, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, Ohio. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at which time there will also be a memorial talk for his late wife Alice. Interment will follow at the Clay Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the worldwide work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
