Obituary

Roy L. Campbell, 88, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on December 22, 1923, in Corbin, Kentucky, to Benjamin and Fona (Barnett) Campbell. He was a veteran of the US Navy, where he served during WW II. On March 11, 1950, he married June Turner. Roy was employed with C & O, New York Central, Chessie System, and CSX Railroads. He retired as an engineer with CSX Railroad in 1985, after 39 years of service. Roy enjoyed bowling; especially at Clay Center, Eastern Lanes, and Toledo Sports Center. Roy'™s true passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved dearly. Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, June; children, Donna (Bob) Gottschalk; son, Ron (Marge) Campbell; grandchildren, Chad Gottschalk, Dylan Campbell, Ashley and Tonya Foley, and Clara (Ryan) Kirkpatrick; 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, Henry (Peggy) Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Charles, Nina, Olga, and Eris. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, August 23rd 2012 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday, August 24th, 2012, in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
