Roy L. Gilbert, 89, of Oregon, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born in Kent, Ohio on October 19, 1921 to Ira and Gladys (Stewart) Gilbert. On September 6, 1947, he married Jane Walton. Roy was an Army veteran of World War II. He received his Bachelors Degree in engineering and MBA from the former Case Tech. University. He was employed as an engineer with Champion Paper and was owner operator of Gilco Corporation. He was later employed with James River Corporation where he served as vice president of manufacturing for 16 years, retiring in 1991. In later years, he served as a consultant until 1998. Roy is survived by his son, William (Vicki) and daughter, Lea (Frank) Sosko; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jane, 2 brothers and a sister. Private funeral services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor'™s choice.
