Roy W. Moritz, 92, passed away on January 8, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on February 2, 1924 to William and Clara (Beichter). Roy was a Veteran of the Army who served in World War II. He went on to work as a pipefitter the Chrysler for 22 years before retiring in 1989. Roy loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, golfing and was a member of the Swiss Society. He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church.
Roy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pauline; son Jeffery (Kristi Sigler); daughters, Joyce (Wayne) Witt, Joanne (Dale) Wolniewicz; step-children, Deborah (Timothy) Gray, James (Melody) Joice; brother, William (Julie) Moritz; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jayne Klaiber; sisters, Ethel Harkom, Velma Fansler, Gladys Harter, Thelma Neiderhaus; grandson, Ryan Wolniewicz.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and where the family will greet visitors beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
