Ruben V. Perales Sr., 69, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Monday, April 7, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital. Ruben was born in Gonzales, Texas on March 10, 1934 to Reynaldo and Anasticia (Villanueva)Perales. He was an Air Force Veteran serving his country for 12 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Ruben was awarded Bronze Star, National Defense, Air Force Accommodation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Ruben worked in the maintenance department for Prefinished Metals. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving are his loving wife, Adela, children, Samuel Santibanez, Rudy (Joyce) Santibanez Sr., Daniel Santibanez Sr., Sandra (Mike Sr.) Dhondt; Ruben (Jodi) Perales Jr.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother, Henry Perales; sister, Alice Mendoza. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon and where his funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
