Obituary

Ruby M. Bachmayer, 87, of Northwood, Ohio passed away August 15, 2011 at Mercy St. Vincent Heart Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 6, 1924 to Herman and Mary Rose (Novotna) Raschke. In her younger years, Ruby was employed at Tillisons, Lampson'™s, Libbey Owens Ford, Beeline Fashions and also sold Avon products. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Ruby enjoyed flowers and watching birds in her backyard. With her sisters, brother and in-laws, she enjoyed traveling to Florida and out west to the Grand Canyon in the Jelly Bean Mini Motor Home. Ruby was famous for her home baked Christmas cookie trays that she gave as presents. She also had a passion for shopping, but above all the rest she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whether it be a holiday or just any day of the week. Surviving are her children, Sheila (Herb) Renfer, James (Carla) and David (Tina) Bachmayer; grandchildren, Melissa (Robert) Shields, Matthew (Heather) Renfer, Christopher (Heather), Michael (Natasha), Eric (Andrea), Andrea, Dustin and Brandon Bachmayer; great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael Jr., Trenton, Katelyn, Addison, Alec, Amber, Logan and Emily; brother, Herman Raschke; sister, Betty (Robert) Martin; brother-in-law, Robert Metzger. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; sister, Marion Metzger; sister-in-law, Jean Raschke; great grandchildren, Jessica and Ethan Bachmayer. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Thursday from 2 - 9 p.m. with a scripture service at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road on Friday at 11:00 a.m., where her family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Ruby'™s memory are asked to consider St. Ignatius Church or the American Heart Association. Visitation: Thursday, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church Services: Friday, 11:00 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church Interment: St. Ignatius Cemetery
