Ruby J. Sears, 73, of Northwood, OH, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2004, at Bay Park Community Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1931, in Ross Township to Anthony and Annie (Nichol) Kreamer. Ruby graduated from Olney H.S. in 1949, and then attended several years of business college. She then worked at the LaSalle's Department Store for several years after college. She was a charter member and Sunday school teacher at Hayes United Methodist Church and a member of the Yondota Chapter #317 Order of Eastern Star. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, always willing to give a helping hand. Ruby was the widow of Gene Sears, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2004.
Surviving is her daughter, Annette Bowman; grandson, David Bowman (Ashley Turnley); sisters and brother, Lillian (Charles) Whitacre, Alma Johnson, Louis (Mary) and Wilma Huston; brother-in-law, Charles (Theresa) Sears; sister-in-law, Fern Kreamer; many nieces and nephews, and her puppies, Tony and Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers, Wilfred, Lovonna, Lawrence, Hazel Hessick and Ruthie Kreamer.
Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, on Sunday, May 2, 2004 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery. Contributions in Ruby's name may be made to Hayes United Methodist Church.
