Rufus Wallace, 100, of Northwood, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 6, 2015. Born on April 15, 1915 in Dickenson County, VA to James A. and Elvira Branham Wallace. Married Dolores Bokan on June 4, 1940 and reared their 8 children in East Toledo, OH and Lake Township in Northwood, OH. Rufus was an active member of Oakdale E.U.B. Church, now Unity U. M. A retiree of the Sun Oil Company, Oregon Refinery after 37 years, working in the Carpenter Shop until 1980.
Rufus is survived by his children, sons, Rufus E. (Ann), James A. (Linda), Russell D. (Janice) and daughters, Kathleen Greer, Corinne (Raymond) Beebe, Geraldine Wallace, Eileen (Marvin) Grant and Jeannine Wallace; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, John (Vivian) and Bill (Linda) Wallace of Wooster, OH; sisters, Clara Potter, Elkhorn City, KY, Polly Thompson, Alkol, WV and Fay Childers, Pikeville, KY. Preceded in death by parents, wife, Dolores; siblings, Rosalie Crum, Josh, Lawrence, Ferrell, and 2nd wife, Ellen Sautter Wallace.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 am with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Unity United Methodist Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
