Russell R. Carr, 93, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Russ was born in Toledo on April 9, 1914, to Harvey and Fern (Emfield) Carr. Mr. Carr was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a mail carrier for the US Post Office for 34 years before his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ, Toledo Swiss Men, GBU, NALC, GAF Retirees and was past president of the Swiss American Athletic Club. Russell also was a charter member of the Toledo Postal Rifle and Pistol Club. Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Katharine; daughters, Elizabeth (John) Novinsky, Barbara Carr and Kathy Carr; brothers, Richard (Bonnie) and Harold (June) Carr; grandsons, Ethan (Jenny), Eric and Aaron Novinsky ; great-grandson, Aidan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wesley and sister, Jane Murphy. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 2-9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
