Russell A Deehr Jr, 95 of Walbridge OH passed away on September 21st 2026 at Gardens of St Francis nursing home. He was born in Warren Ohio on February 17th 1931 to Russell Sr and Irene (Seiple) Deehr.

Russell graduated from the Ohio State School for the Blind in 1952 where he met his beloved wife Patricia (McCrory) who he married on July 13th 1952. He was employed by The Sight Center of Toledo and General Motors and retired in 1991.

He loved the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes and found a lot of joy in listening to their games. He was very fond of music and could often be found singing a tune he had likely made up.

He was immensely loved by his family who he loved very much in return. He is survived by his children, Deborah (Michael) Huss, Barbara (Michael) Szymanski, and Michael (Tina) Deehr Sr; Grandchildren, Matthew Huss, Lisa Sullivan, Sarah (Bradley) Washburn, Beverly Huss, Jason (Nicole) Szymanski, Emily (Jon) Hartke, Megan Szymanski, Michael Deehr Jr (Nicole) Amanda (Nick) Baer, Laura (Ryan) Beauregard, Abigail Deehr, his 16 great-grandchildren, his sister Carolyn Norton and his brother Ronald (Janet) Deehr.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his parents and his brothers Albert Deehr, Adelbert Deehr, and Bruce Deehr. His family would like to thank the staff at Gardens of St Francis for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. from 9 a.m. until the start of funeral services at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Russell's memory are asked to consider the Sight Centery of Northwest Ohio.
