Ruth E. Betcher, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018. Ruth was born on March 17, 1929 to Emil and Amalia (Leis) Betcher. She attended Oakdale Elementary School and worked many years with Josina Lott Industries. Ruth treasured her family vacations at Houghton Lake. While living with her sister Dorothy, Ruth helped around the house washing dishes, house cleaning, and making the morning coffee. Ruth was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show, playing solitaire, word search books, embroidery, and making pot holders. Ruth is survived by her sister, Alma Klatt along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Martha Betcher, Dorothy Leck, Helen Steinke, Walter Betcher and Richard Betcher. The family will receive friends at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 West Plummer Street, Toledo on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment: Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Josina Lott Industries.
