Ruth H. Gregor, 92, of Oregon, passed away on November 22, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio with her loving family by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 7, 1920 to Albert and Marie (Schatz) McAninch and raised on their large farm in Trilby. Gifted in the musical arts, Ruth gave up a singing career to marry the light of her life, Paul F. Gregor, a semi-pro baseball player who preceded her in death on April 19, 2001. A loving wife and devoted mother, Ruth also enjoyed family outings on Lake Erie on their boat, 'œThe Alibi'. She loved music and singing and finally cut her first CD, 'œWhen Songs Were Sung', at the age of 91. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Sharon Filipiak, Janet Kulczak, Suzanne (Evan) Rice; grandchildren, Christopher (Cheryl) Kulczak and Scott (Mary) Filipiak; She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
