Obituary

Ruth A. Schiel, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 17, 1924 to Henry and Adeline (Richards) Klevorn.  On January 19, 1946, Ruth married Leo A. Schiel Jr. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, an excellent cook and had a great sense of humor. Her kindness to others will always be remembered.  Ruth worked for Tiedtkes and the Toledo Board of Education, but will be especially remembered for her volunteer and charity work. She was a life long member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister, president of the Altar Rosary Society and chairman of the parish festival. She was a Girl Scout leader, president of the Biretta Club of Cardinal Stritch High School, a volunteer at St. Charles Hospital, and at the Helping Hands of St. Louis soup kitchen, where she served on the executive board.  Surviving are her daughters, Nancy A. (Robert) Day of Hudson, MI, Darlene A.  Domanski of Gladwin, MI, Annette L. (Michael) Dziedzic of Toledo, Julie A.(Herbert) Parman of Elliston and Gina M. (Eric) Ritzman of Perrysburg; sisters in law, Phyllis (Roger) Fellman and Linda Klevorn;12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; goddaughter and niece, Nancy (Ronald) Vuketich and many other loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Henrietta McGinnis and Mildred Witaszek, brother, Richard Klevorn, son in law, Leonard Domanski and granddaughter, Sarah Domanski.  Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday from 1 to 9 pm with recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services begin in the funeral home on Monday at 10:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. The family requests any donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Charles Cardiac Rehab or the Kidney Foundation. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Dr. Rashid, Dr. Magsi, Dr. Bishara, Dr. Martinez, the Doctors of the Oregon Clinic, the staff of St. Vincent 3C vascular unit, St. Charles hospital staff, Sam, Joni, Betty and all her friends at St. Charles cardiac rehab. Your care and kindness is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to our Mothers wonderful neighbors and friends for all their kindness and prayers. "Mom and Dad save a dance for us!"
