Ryan A. Kersey, 31, of Oregon, Ohio, tragically passed away in an automobile accident on March 26, 2018. Ryan was born on July 6, 1986, in Oregon, Ohio, to Diane (Simon) and Randy Kersey.
Ryan had an indomitable spirit and a lot of life left to live. From athletics, to passion for cars, to his career, to love for his family, he was strong and determined to succeed. But what might be his greatest accomplishment was his love for his wife Jessica and the amazing father he was to his two beautiful children, Rilynn and Dylan.
Ryan graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 2004. During his time there he would became a standout hockey and football player, winning a state title in football in 2001 and a National Championship hockey title for Toledo Ice Diggers in 2003.
Throughout his life Ryan would gather many lifelong friends. He had a love of many things, but one he was very passionate about would be Ford Mustangs, something he shared with his father.
Ryan was an operator for the Toledo Refining Company for 10 years, advancing to the position of Chief. During this time he met the love of his life, Jessica (Pappas) and they were married October 19, 2013. He and Jessica would enjoy different adventures in their time together, from traveling to playing sports to exercise and fitness. This would lead to opening their first business, Mind Over Core Nutrition in Oregon.
Ryan had an infectious smile, genuine personality, and could grab the attention of any room he stepped foot in. His best trait was his desire to make sure everyone was taken care of. This ranged from the special times with his mother to Monday man days with the boys talking sports and being proud to be the only 49ers and Penguins fan in the house. Aside from everything he has done and accomplished in life, what Ryan cherished most was his beautiful family who will miss him so dearly.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 5 years, Jessica; children, Rilynn (4) and Dylan (2); parents, Randy and Diane Kersey; siblings, Randy Jr. (Heather), Ross (Michelle), Reid (Brooke Bogdan), Rachel Kersey; niece, Claire; brothers-in-law, Corey "Homeslice" and Joshua Pappas; mother and father in-law, Michael and Barbara Pappas; grandparents, Jeryl and Nancy Kersey, Pando and Maria Pappas, Mary Wolfe; and many aunts, uncles, loving family members and friends. Ryan was preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Kathleen Simon, John Wolfe and cousin Jake Kersey.
